PostSubject: Server Crashes: Why you lose your Digimon and what you can do about it   Tue Jul 19, 2016 7:25 pm

Now that the conflict between Digimobs and GriefPrevention has been resolved, Digimon should no longer be vanishing from the world. Server crashes, however, can still cause your Digimon to be deleted. Please take note of the following information about server crashes, as your Digimon will be deleted if you manage to make it crash the server.

To put it simply, Digimon are tied to your player data. If your Digimon dies, Digivolves, or is modified in some other way, the mod sends that information to your player. If you are in a different dimension from your Digimon when these modifications occur, the server has nowhere to send this new information, and it crashes. In order to remove itself from the crashed state, the server must delete the entity that caused the crash. This entity is your Digimon.

So, what can you do? Don't leave your Digimon out. We can tell whose Digimon caused the crash, and since you've all been instructed not to abandon your Digis via NPCs, fined for abandoning your Digis, warned by staff members and other players not to abandon your Digis, and now told once again to do so via a forum post, we're not really going to have any sympathy for you.

If you have found any sort of Digivolving exploit or way to interact with your Digimon across worlds or while it is an unloaded chunk, please report this to Cyan or myself. You won't be in too much trouble, especially if you report it now instead of waiting to see if anyone else steps forward first. Remember, you are crashing the server and it would be better for everyone if you weren't.

If you lose your Digimon during a crash and are able to provide a screenshot of said Digimon, you will be compensated with an egg for that line. Because these crashes are due to whatever you people keep doing to your Digis, we will no longer be restoring full Digimon. If we (the staff team) feel that you have not sufficiently looked for your Digimon before claiming that it vanished, we reserve the right to refuse to compensate you for any Digi you may have 'lost.'

And finally, as mentioned above, Digis no longer vanish in claims. This is not an issue anymore. If you do find another conflict between the mod and the claiming system, please report it under 'Adventure Bugs' in such a way that we will be able to test it out and verify it.

alright so in light of the new stat training updates, Digis that are lost to server crashes will now be replaced with the same level, personality, and stats as the last existing screenshot of their stats page in the Digivice interface. This means that players must screenshot the Digivice interface, not the Digimon running around in-game. because stats are no longer gained according to levels, no Digimon will be replaced with higher stats or at a higher level than it is in the screenshot.

In order to get your Digimon replaced, you must pm me or Cyan a screenshot of your Digimon on the forums. screenshots sent through other channels or using other players as witnesses in place of a screenshot do not count. The message containing the screenshot must also contain the time, in Eastern Standard Time, of the crash. If you don't know what time it is in EST, you can google "what time is it in Eastern Standard Time" and the magic of the internet will tell you. Replaced Digimon requests without times, with a time that does not correspond to a server crash, or referencing a crash that did not happen due to a Digimon will not be accepted. Attempts to exploit this system will result in an investigation by cyan and myself, followed, if the player in question is found guilty, by an immediate permanent ban.

The policy on inventories will remain the same: in order for anything to be replaced, the inventory must be screenshotted.

If your Digimon is an unusual size and/or colour, it is recommended that you take a second screenshot of it showcasing these variations. If possible, screenshot it standing next to a normal Digimon of the same species so Cyan and I can easily tell what made your Digimon special.
